Sustainability Community Finland
Sustainability Community Finland is a professional and grassroots network connecting people who care about building a more sustainable future.
We bring together professionals, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, public sector employees, NGO members, and anyone curious about sustainability. Our community is united not by nationality or background, but by a shared interest in learning, collaborating, and taking meaningful action.
All of our events are held in English, making sustainability conversations accessible to Finland's international community while welcoming Finnish participants who enjoy connecting across cultures.
What we do
We create spaces where sustainability becomes practical, inspiring, and social. Our activities include expert talks, workshops, company visits, panel discussions, networking evenings, and community meetups covering topics such as climate change, biodiversity, circular economy, wellbeing, and resilience.

How we started
Sustainability Community Finland began with a simple observation: many people wanted to engage with sustainability, but struggled to find an English-speaking community where they could genuinely belong.
The challenge wasn't a lack of interest, it was a lack of connection. People from different sectors were solving similar problems without knowing each other. Others felt overwhelmed by conflicting information or discouraged by greenwashing and polarized discussions.
What started as a small meetup in 2023 which has now grown into one of Finland's largest English-speaking sustainability communities. Today, we continue to create welcoming spaces where ideas become collaborations, conversations become friendships, and individual actions become collective impact.
A platform for ideas and people
We believe meaningful change happens when diverse voices are heard. Sustainability Community Finland is not only a community, it is also a platform where experts, practitioners, organizations, and community members can share their knowledge, experiences, and initiatives.
Many of our speakers are people doing important work across business, academia, NGOs, and the public sector. By creating accessible events and conversations in English, we help good ideas reach wider audiences and connect people who might never have met otherwise.
Our vision
We believe the sustainability transition happens when people connect across disciplines, cultures, and organizations. By lowering language barriers and bringing diverse perspectives together, we hope to make Finland's sustainability ecosystem more open, collaborative, and inclusive for everyone.
Sustainability Community Finland ry is a non-profit association based in Espoo, Finland, run by a volunteer board and community volunteers.
